Detailed Itinerary: Drâa Valley Desert Trek
Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech
Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Depending on arrival time, free visit of Marrakech, a vibrant and cultural city.
Day 2: Marrakech – Drâa Valley Trek – Bouygaywarne Dunes
Transfer to the starting point of the Drâa Valley trek, with a lunch break in Ouarzazate. Cross the valley to meet the team of porters and camel drivers. First night in a bivouac in the dunes, under the sparkling stars.
Day 3: Descent of the Drâa Valley
Begin the desert hike through the palm grove and Berber villages. Lunch break in the shade of the palm trees of Zawyat Sidi Salah. Cross the Oued Drâa to reach the bivouac at the foot of the Tidri dunes. Walking time: 5h30.
Day 4: Tidri – Lunar Plateau – Erg Essahel
Continue the dune desert trekking along the Drâa Valley towards Erg Essahel, crossing a lunar-like desert plateau. Set up camp amidst the high dunes. Free afternoon to explore the dunes or experience a camel trek. Evening under the stars, animated around a campfire with local folklore and a tasting of sand bread. Walking time: 4h.
Day 5: Reg and dunes – Oulad Driss Village
Silent hike through a spectacular reg to reach the Ergabi dunes. Lunch in the shade of tamarisks. Arrive at Oulad Driss village for a night in a nomadic tent, with a hot shower. Walking time: 5h30.
Day 6: Oulad Driss – Zagora – Aït Ben Haddou
Sunrise followed by breakfast and group photos. Farewell to the camel team. Transfer through Zagora and the villages bordering the Drâa Valley. Lunch break in Ouarzazate and free visit. In the late afternoon, transfer to Aït Ben Haddou village for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. Travel time: 4h.
Day 7: Aït Ben Haddou – Marrakech via the Ounila Valley

Accessible to anyone in good physical condition, able to walk 4 to 6 hours a day. There are few elevation changes, especially for climbing the dunes of the Moroccan Sahara. No carrying, bags are transported by camels.

A Typical Day of Hiking
Wake-up is at dawn. After breakfast, luggage and tents are folded, packed, and entrusted to the camel drivers who will load them. The hike starts approximately 1 to 1.5 hours after waking. Rest or photo stops are planned during the walk. Trail provisions are distributed by the guide: dried fruits, oranges. The midday stop is a proper meal, in a shaded spot chosen when the sun is hot. The evening stop is early enough before nightfall to allow for setting up and preparing dinner. Participants set up tents with the help of the guide and camel drivers.
