On December 31, you reach your desert camp in Chegaga, with time to enjoy the sunset before celebrating the arrival of the New Year in the Sahara. The return journey takes you through the landscapes of Lake Iriki and Foum Zguid before an overnight stop in Ouarzazate.

Day 1 – December 29: Arrival in Marrakech
Meet and greet at Marrakech Airport, followed by a transfer to your riad or hotel. Settle in and enjoy some free time to explore the medina, depending on your arrival time.
Day 2 – December 30: Marrakech → High Atlas → Drâa Valley → Zagora
Leave Marrakech and head south across the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, before continuing towards Ouarzazate and the Drâa Valley.
Along the way, palm groves, kasbahs and traditional earthen villages gradually reveal the landscapes of southern Morocco. Continue to Zagora, where you spend the night.
Day 3 – December 31: Zagora → Chegaga Dunes – New Year’s Eve in the Desert
After breakfast, head towards the Sahara. The road gradually gives way to desert tracks crossing vast open landscapes before reaching the Chegaga dunes.
Settle into your desert camp and enjoy some free time among the dunes before watching the sunset over the Sahara.

Day 4 – January 1: Chegaga → Lake Iriki → Foum Zguid → Ouarzazate
Wake up to the first morning of the year in the heart of the desert. After breakfast, travel along Saharan tracks towards Lake Iriki and Foum Zguid.
Gradually leave the desert landscapes behind and continue to Ouarzazate. Check in and spend the night there.
Day 5 – January 2: Ouarzazate → Marrakech
